Hiking in Landmannalaugar
PRIVATE HIKING TOUR IN LANDMANNALAUGAR
This tour offers a unique opportunity to explore another remarkable region of Iceland: The Icelandic Highlands. Our itinerary strikes a perfect balance between admiring stunning landscapes and actively hiking through them.
Accessible only during the summer, the Icelandic Highlands are a vast, uninhabited desert in the heart of the island. This is the true Iceland—remote and untouched.
To reach this paradise, we travel on rugged roads in specially modified 4×4 LandCruisers, ensuring your journey is both safe and comfortable.
While the focus of this tour is on hiking, we also include sightseeing stops to appreciate the highlands’ beauty and capture some memorable photos.
At the end of the day, if you wish, you can relax with a dip in a hot spring.
Sigöldugljúfur
Beautiful canyon with dozens of waterfalls. Also called “The Valley of Tears”.
Ljótipollur
Ljótipollur is a stunning volcanic crater displaying an incredible number of colors and a lake at its bottom. It is, however, impossible to understand why it is called Ljótipollur, which means the “ugly puddle”.
Landmannalaugar
Once we reach our main destination; Landmannalaugar in the Highlands, you will have the possibility to choose between several hiking paths. Some are more challenging than others, so after talking with your guide, you will decide which ones are the most suitable for you.
